Terms of Service
Last updated 16 September 2026
1. Who we are
TEN is a dating app that matches people based on their answers to daily questions (“the Service”). TEN is provided by [company name], [registered address] (placeholder — fill in before launch). By creating an account you agree to these Terms and to our Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use TEN. By signing up you confirm that you are 18 or over, that the information and photos you provide are genuine and your own, and that you are legally able to enter into this agreement. We may ask you to confirm your age or identity — for example with a selfie-based age check or photo ID — and may close accounts that cannot. A verified badge is shown only once a person at TEN has matched your selfie to your photos.
3. Your account
You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity on your account. One account per person. You may not share, sell or transfer your account, or create a new one after being banned.
4. Community Guidelines
You must follow our Community Guidelines, which you can read at any time in Settings. In short: be who you say you are; no harassment, threats, hate or encouraging self-harm; no sexual messages or images someone has not asked for; never ask for money; no advertising, selling or offering sex; respect other people’s privacy; and nothing illegal.
5. Reports and moderation
Anyone can report a match from their chat, a single message or their profile. Reporting ends the match immediately, and we never tell the reported person who reported them. When a report is made we keep a copy of that conversation and the reported person’s profile as evidence, and a person at TEN reviews it, prioritising reports about safety and anyone who may be under 18. Before you send a message that looks hurtful or explicit, the app may ask whether you are sure; this check runs on your phone, and we record whether the prompt was shown. Messages cannot be edited or deleted once sent.
6. What we can do
If you break these Terms or the Community Guidelines we may remove content, end your matches, or permanently ban your account, which blocks sign-in and removes you from matching. Serious breaches lead to a ban the first time. We do not refund subscriptions for accounts banned for breaking these rules. We may share information with the police or other authorities where the law requires it or where someone is at risk of serious harm.
7. Appeals and complaints
If your account is banned you will be told when you next try to sign in, and you can appeal once, from that screen, within 30 days. A person at TEN reviews the appeal against the original evidence and replies by email; that decision is final. You can also complain to us about content on TEN, about how we handled a report you made, or about anything in how we apply these Terms, using the contact details below.
8. Safety
TEN provides safety features including DateMate (trusted contacts you nominate), date check-ins, the “are you sure?” prompt and reporting. These are aids, not guarantees. Always take your own precautions when meeting someone new: meet in public, tell someone where you are going, and arrange your own transport. TEN does not run criminal background checks on users.
9. Content
You keep ownership of the content you post (photos, answers, profile details, messages) but grant TEN a licence to store, display and process it as needed to run the Service, including to review reports. You must have the right to share anything you upload. We may remove content that breaks these Terms.
10. Subscriptions
TEN Premium is an optional paid subscription that renews automatically until cancelled. Prices are shown in the app before purchase. You can cancel any time via your app store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
11. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete account (see the Privacy Policy for what is deleted and what is kept). We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms or where required by law.
12. Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is”. We do not guarantee matches, dates, or outcomes, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, whether online or offline. To the maximum extent permitted by law, TEN’s liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
13. Changes
We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. If we make material changes we will notify you in the app. Continuing to use TEN after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Contact
Questions or complaints about these Terms: support@ten.app (placeholder — replace with your real support address before launch).
